Andrew Egbert

Andrew Egbert is an instructional designer at CWI’s Center for Teaching and Learning, where he focuses on systems-level improvements to digital learning environments. He began his career in commercial printing and publishing, which gave him a lasting respect for precision workflows, information design, and the interaction between human users and complex systems.

His current research explores applied AI, interactive environments (VR), and the cognitive architecture of digital learning systems in higher education. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology at Idaho State University, with a focus on system optimization and emergent learning environments.

Andrew holds an M.S. in Education and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design from the University of Wisconsin–Stout, a B.S. in History from Excelsior College, and a Certificate in Technical Writing from Dalhousie University.

Dr. Daren Olson

Daren Olson is a senior instructional designer in the Center for Teaching and Learning. He began his career as a language arts teacher for grades 7-12. Since 1998 he has worked as an instructional designer in higher education, business, and government organizations. He has helped faculty design and develop more than 100 face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.

He has a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Utah State University. He also attended Idaho State University, where he earned an M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction and a B.A. in Secondary Education with an English major and Psychology minor.
