4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND COMPONENTS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Service uses the Anthropic Claude API to analyze documents and generate
image descriptions. You are required to provide Your own Anthropic API key
and are solely responsible for:

  (a) maintaining a valid Anthropic API key in Your account at Your own
      expense;
  (b) complying with Anthropic's terms of service, acceptable-use policy,

The Service incorporates open-source libraries that are licensed under their
own terms. Those libraries remain the property of their respective owners.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. ACCOUNT, DATA, AND PRIVACY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To use the Service You must register an account using a valid email address.
The Service stores:

  (a) Your email address and account metadata (sign-in history, role);
  (b) Your Anthropic API key, encrypted at rest using a symmetric cipher
      and decrypted in memory only during a remediation request;
  (c) operational records of each remediation job (file name, file size,
      page count, status, accessibility report);
  (d) the binary output of each remediation job, retained for 24 hours and
      then deleted automatically.

Source PDFs are deleted from the Service immediately after processing
completes. Output PDFs are deleted automatically 24 hours after creation.
The Service may transmit the contents of Your PDFs to the Anthropic Claude
API for processing under Anthropic's terms. You should not upload any
document that You are not permitted to send to a third-party cloud service.

The Author does not sell Your data and does not use Your data or PDFs to
train any machine-learning model.

KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR
NON-INFRINGEMENT.

THE AUTHOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS,
OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION, BE ERROR-FREE, OR PRODUCE A PDF THAT IS FULLY
COMPLIANT WITH WCAG 2.1 AA, PDF/UA-1, SECTION 508, OR ANY OTHER
ACCESSIBILITY STANDARD OR LEGAL REQUIREMENT. You are responsible for
independently verifying the accessibility of any document processed by the
Service before distribution.

AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL,
EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA,
GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS LICENSE OR THE
SERVICE, EVEN IF THE AUTHOR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH
DAMAGES.

THE AUTHOR'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY UNDER THIS LICENSE WILL NOT EXCEED
THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID THE AUTHOR FOR ACCESS TO THE SERVICE
DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY,

      its source, user interface, or output (other than Your own remediated
      PDFs);

      quota, watermark, or telemetry mechanism in the Service;
  (h) share Your account credentials or Anthropic API key with any other
      person, or use the Service on behalf of any third party without
      explicit written permission;
  (i) use the Service in any manner that would expose the Author to legal
      liability or reputational harm.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Service uses the Anthropic Claude API to analyze documents and generate
image descriptions. You are required to provide Your own Anthropic API key
and are solely responsible for:

      expense;
  (b) complying with Anthropic's terms of service, acceptable-use policy,

You are not permitted to send to a third-party cloud service.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. NO PROFESSIONAL ADVICE; NO GUARANTEE OF COMPLIANCE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Service is a tool intended to help remediate common PDF accessibility
issues. It is NOT a substitute for a qualified human accessibility expert
and it does NOT guarantee compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA, PDF/UA-1, Section
508, the ADA, or any other accessibility standard or legal requirement.

You are solely responsible for independently reviewing and validating any

The Author accepts no responsibility for any accessibility failure, legal
liability, or harm arising from reliance on the output of the Service.

The Service is a hosted web application. To use it, the Service stores:

  (a) Your email address and account metadata (sign-in history, role).

  (c) Operational records of each remediation job: file name, file size,
      page count, status, and the accessibility report.
  (d) The binary output of each remediation job, retained for 24 hours
      and then deleted automatically.

Source PDFs are deleted from the Service immediately after processing
completes. The Service does not retain copies of source files beyond the
duration of processing.

The Author does not sell Your data and does not use Your data or PDFs to
train any machine-learning model. The Author does receive anonymized
operational metrics (signups, job counts, durations) used to operate and
plan the Service.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Service and all associated materials are the exclusive property of the
Author and are protected by United States and international copyright and
other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted to You
are reserved by the Author.

You retain all ownership rights in the PDF files You upload to the Service,
including the remediated output files. Nothing in these Terms transfers
ownership of Your content to the Author.

8. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY
KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THE AUTHOR DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES,
INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE AUTHOR BE
LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR
PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR
BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE.

THE AUTHOR'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED ONE U.S. DOLLAR
(US $1.00).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10. INDEMNIFICATION
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Author from and
against any claim, demand, loss, or liability, including reasonable
attorneys' fees, arising out of or relating to:

  (a) Your use or misuse of the Service;
  (b) Your violation of these Terms or the License;

with or without notice. The Author may also revoke Your access to the
Service at any time, with or without notice, if You breach these Terms or
the License. Upon termination, Your account data and any remaining output
files may be deleted.
